SDL Trados Studio, market-leading translation software, provides a range of sophisticated features to help you not only work more easily but also up to 20% faster* than previous versions of SDL Trados.
AutoSuggest 2.0 monitors what you are typing and, after you have typed the first few characters of a word it presents you with a list of suggested words or phrases in context and in your target language. If one of the words or phrases matches what you were about to type, you can automatically complete the word or phrase by selecting it from the list. As you continue to type, the list of suggested words is continuously updated.
The suggested words and phrases can be from the following sources:
New to SDL Trados Studio 2015 - you can now draw on suggestions of words and phrases from machine translations (as many as you like!) plus concordance and fuzzy match results coming directly from your translation memories.
There are also a number of AutoSuggest 2.0 dictionaries available for you to download on the next tab.
You must have at least one of the sources above to use AutoSuggest 2.0 and a minimum of 25,000 entries within the translation memory.
If you are using SDL Trados Studio Freelance you need to purchase the AutoSuggest Creator add-on to create AutoSuggest 2.0 dictionaries. Review your order details to see if this was included in your purchase.
Once you have purchased the AutoSuggest Creator add-on you can follow the instructions here to create your own AutoSuggest 2.0 dictionary.
Please note: if you have purchased the SDL Trados Studio Professional version then you do not need to purchase the add-on to create AutoSuggest 2.0 dictionaries as this functionality is already included in this version of our software.
If you have one of the sources described above which are needed to use AutoSuggest 2.0 then you can enable the feature by following these instructions:
